Why does Karunattu need microphone access?

For pitch detection (Tuner, Voice Coach, Doṣa Coach, Rāga ID), practice recording, and the Sangam duet feature. We never request mic access at app launch — only when you tap a feature that needs it. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Why does Karunattu need local network access?

The Sangam duet feature uses MultipeerConnectivity over Bonjour (_karunattu-sang._tcp) to discover nearby practitioners. We exchange only pitch events and tāḷa beats — never audio. The prompt fires only when you first tap the Sangam tile.

Can I use Karunattu offline?

Yes. The raga catalog, tampura drone, tala engine, instrument synthesizers, and on-device practice tools work fully offline. You only need connectivity to sign in, sync practice data to the cloud, or use Sangam.

What's the difference between the three tiers?

Does my subscription work on iOS and web?

Sign in with the same Apple ID or email on both surfaces and your practice data, journal, phrase snapshots, and saved Sa sync between web (app.karunattu.com) and iOS.
