Pañcaratna

The five Ghana-rāga gems composed at Tiruvaiyāru — Nāṭa, Gauḷa, Ārabhi, Varāḷi, Śrī — sung as a unison group at the saint's samādhi each year on Puṣya Bahuḷa Pañcamī (the 5th day of the waning moon of the Hindu month Puṣya, January 24). Hundreds of musicians gather at the Kāvēri bank in Tiruvaiyāru and render them together.

Click Play all 5 in sequence to hear them played back to back via the server-side voice synth, each in its own raga + tāla + tempo.

Each kṛti is rendered from its verified pallavi opening — encoded from the Tillaisthanam paramparā manuscripts and cross-checked against the annual unison rendition at Tiruvaiyāru. Tāla clicks and tāmpura drone are mixed underneath. The full pallavi (multiple sangatis + chittasvaram) will follow as additional movements land per kṛti.
