Bantureeti Kōlu — Your first complete kṛti

Now the first complete kṛti. Bhakti, raga, tāla — all together. "Grant me, O Rāma, the duty of a foot-soldier in your service."

The teacher

Why this stage now

Hamsanādam is a 5-note janya — fewer svaras to track. Brisk tempo keeps energy up. The text is a humble plea — bhakti without complexity. One full āvarta for the pallavi opening — clean structure.

You're ready for the next stage when

You can sing the full kṛti from memory at 90 BPM, in tāla, in śruti, end to end.

The protocol

  1. 01Day 1: sahitya only. Recite pallavi aloud 20 times. Then anupallavi. Then charaṇa.
  2. 02Day 2: raga only. Sing Hamsanādam arōhaṇa: S R₂ M₁ P N₃ Ṡ from memory.
  3. 03Days 3–7: pallavi melody. Play the verified pallavi. Sing along.
  4. 04Days 8–14: anupallavi.
  5. 05Days 15+: charaṇam. Then full kṛti daily for 2 weeks minimum.

Sing along with pitch scoring

Once you can sing the pallavi along with the synth, open the Sancara Practice tool to have your pitch scored against the raga's grammar — ±5¢ accuracy via the YIN pitch detector. Work on the kampita-laden phrases there with the Vibrato Analyzer.
