The śiṣya at Tiruvaiyāru sang the saptaswarā for years before approaching any kṛti. The seven svaras are not a warm-up — they are the foundation.
You're ready for the next stage when
Arōhaṇa + avarōhaṇa in Sankarābharaṇam at 60 BPM with all svaras inside the ±10¢ band and a Sancara score ≥ 90.
The protocol
- 01Open Sancara Practice with Sankarābharaṇam.
- 02Sing S R G M P D N Ṡ ascending, then Ṡ N D P M G R S descending.
- 03Goal: every svara stable within ±10 cents on the cents-drift bars.
- 04Practice at 60 BPM first. Move to 80 BPM only when 60 BPM scores ≥ 90.
